Who Are We?

Liberti: the condition of those who, having been slaves, have been set free.

Jesus came to bring freedom to the captives.  This is who we are – captives set free by Jesus Christ.

Christ offers freedom to all who are enslaved.  In and through his life, his death, his resurrection, his love, his truth, his forgiveness, his justice, his renewing power over all that exists, his presence by the Holy Spirit, we are set free.

We are a community on a journey from slavery to freedom in Christ.

Come join us.  Experience Liberti.

Linda Ference Director of Campus Ministry

As a boy living in Alexandria, Egypt, John’s favorite animal was a lion.  His curiosity never caused him to wonder what it would be like to stick his whole head inside a lion’s open mouth.

John is married to Nevine.  In their marriage, John lovingly provides Nevine many opportunities to demonstrate her kindness and patience.  Their children are Ashley, Gabrielle, David and Alexander.  When they are all together, it’s usually noisy.  Indiana’s stringent zoning regulations prevent them from keeping a pet lion at home.

Before attending seminary at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, John was a practicing attorney.  He spent a number of years in criminal defense practice.  As a sinner, he is glad to know that Jesus Christ the righteous is his advocate with the Father.

As Director of Campus Ministry, John gets to listen to, talk to and hang out with college students and young adults.  If coolness could be attained vicariously, John would be cool.  It can’t be so attained.
