Who Are We?

At Ransomed, we ask, what does it mean to be human? How can we live well individually and together? How can I know God? How does Jesus bring all of these questions and their answers together?

We are a community whose identity is rooted in Christ that welcomes seekers and skeptics at different points of Spiritual discovery and exploration.

We invite you to come and see.

What We Offer

Ransomed: This is our large group gathering.  We get together in a relaxed setting as we engage meaningful questions that concern our lives, our community and our world. Music and coffee on tap. The curious and contrarian are welcome. Friday nights at 7:30 pm.

DLX!:  In this smaller group setting, we form accountable, meaningful and honest relationships based on the truth that is in Jesus.  Tuesdays at 7 pm.

Sunday School: Through study and discussion, we aim to become a community shaped by the story of God's rescuing mission to our world in and through Jesus Christ. 10:00 in the West Wing (not the White House).

Service: As those who embody Christ to our community we intend to reach out and serve the poor and marginalized. This is in keeping with Christ's mission to the world, which involves his comprehensive rescue and renewal of all creation through his death and resurrection. He privileges us by calling us to follow him in his kingdom-building mission that sets free the captives of every race, ethnicity, nation and language, including us.

John Fouad Hanna Director of Campus Ministry

As a boy living in Alexandria, Egypt, John’s favorite animal was a lion.  His curiosity never caused him to wonder what it would be like to stick his whole head inside a lion’s open mouth.

John is married to Nevine.  In their marriage, John lovingly provides Nevine many opportunities to demonstrate her kindness and patience.  Their children are Ashley, Gabrielle, David and Alexander.  When they are all together, it’s usually noisy.  Indiana’s stringent zoning regulations prevent them from keeping a pet lion at home.

Before attending seminary at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, John was a practicing attorney.  He spent a number of years in criminal defense practice.  As a sinner, he is glad to know that Jesus Christ the righteous is his advocate with the Father.

As Director of Campus Ministry, John gets to listen to, talk to and hang out with college students and young adults.  If coolness could be attained vicariously, John would be cool.  It can’t be so attained.
