Whats Going On At Ransomed
In our community, we are thankful that God hasn’t left us to ourselves and the limits of our imaginations but made himself known, definitively in the person of Christ. We look forward to studying the revelation of God and his saving acts in history through the book of Exodus in SMASH (10 am on Sundays) over the next several months.
Our ministry exists not just for own sake but in order to serve the IUP and Indiana communities. This fall, we anticipate our interaction with IUP to include extending invitations to Ransomed to those who hold opposing viewpoints. We will respectfully listen in order to understand what they believe and further demonstrate our care and respect by articulating Christ’s truth and love.
We look forward to continuing our traditional Midnight Mission onto the IUP campus the Friday of homecoming weekend. This entails our distributing food and hot chocolate (mmm…chocolate…) to hungry (and sometimes inebriated) students beginning at midnight. Such an action points to, and is done on behalf of, the God of creation who is the giver of every good gift, and the God of redemption who gives us the real Spiritual food and drink that we must have in order to truly live.
As those who embody Christ to our community we intend to reach out and serve the poor and marginalized. This is in keeping with Christ’s mission to the world, which involves his comprehensive rescue and renewal of all creation through his death and resurrection. He privileges us by calling us to follow him in his kingdom-building mission that sets free the captives of every race, people group, ethnicity and language, including us.
We invite you to come and see.

Sunday School: 9:45 West Wing (not at the white house), Graystone Church. We discuss together different issues and concepts that are revealed through Scripture.
Ransomed: We hold a discussion/worship at Graystone Church. We open the doors at 7pm and start worship at 7:45pm. We then discuss a topic as a group and cipher out truth as we move through the topic. Afterwards we hang out and continue to discuss, play games, watch movies or a number of other things. We close the doors by 2am. There is free food and Commonplace Coffee.
Small Groups: Want to get involved with a college small group? Want to learn more about God in a friendly environment? Get ahold of us and sign up!
Why Study Community?
As Christians, we were intended to live in fellowship with one another. Christian community is at its best when believers' live are connected in the common bond of Jesus Christ through a local church. In Community we will study the story of the New Testament Church, its miraculous inception at Penecost, and its spread throuhout the world. Not only will we learn the history of the New Testament Church, we will also learn their roles as members of the modern day Church.
So join us every Monday at 7pm at Common Place Coffee House for this school year long bible study that will help change your outlook on community and the Church.
