Oooo, Ahh Crawfish, Whats that?-Day 1

May 17, 2009

Our first full day in New Orleans. Why is it "New" Orleans? Is there actually an "Old" Orleans? Who knows?

Today we were truly blessed and and honored to receive such hospitable kindness from our brothers and sisters in Christ from St. Mark's Episcopal Church. This morning we joined the members of St. Mark's in a joyful morning of prayer, praise and worship, and rememberance of our Savior. After the service we enjpyd meeting learning from local Crawfish Boiling Experts. Everyone had more thqn enough with their own tray filled with about 5 pounds of Crawfish and lots of veggies. In the afternoon we traveled to the famous French Quarter in downtown New Orleans. We ate amazing food, saw some crazy street performers, and walked around and taking in the sights.  This was a great introduction to the city and warm welcome from the church community.
